National truck Driver Appreciation week 2026

September 8, 2026

Happy National Truck Driver appreciation week from the Motion ELD team. National Truck Driver Appreciation Week returns September 13–19, 2026, honoring the millions of professional drivers who keep America moving every day.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2026: Thank You for every mile

This Sunday marks the beginning of the 38th annual National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, organized by the American Trucking Associations to recognize the people behind one of the most essential jobs in the United States.

Today, around 3.6 million professional truck drivers are working across the country. More than 80% of U.S. communities rely exclusively on trucks to receive their freight.

That means the food on grocery store shelves, medicine in pharmacies, clothes in our closets, construction materials, equipment, and thousands of everyday products depend on a truck — and on the driver behind the wheel.

More than just miles

The numbers show the scale of the trucking industry, but they do not tell the full story of what it means to be a professional driver.

Behind every delivery are long hours away from home, nights spent at truck stops and rest areas, traffic, changing weather conditions, tight delivery windows, waiting at docks, inspections, HOS requirements, and the responsibility of safely operating a heavy commercial vehicle.

Every day, drivers make decisions that affect not only their own safety but also the safety of everyone sharing the road with them.

For most people, freight simply appears where it is needed.

For truck drivers, getting it there is the result of hard work every single day.

One week of appreciation, 52 weeks of work

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs from September 13 through September 19, 2026.

But appreciation for drivers should not be limited to just one week.

Truck drivers continue working on weekends, holidays, in bad weather, through traffic, breakdowns, detention, and thousands of miles away from their families to keep America’s supply chain moving.

Behind every safe delivery are hours of work that most people never see.

At Motion ELD, we work with drivers and fleets every day, and we understand that technology should make their jobs easier — not create another problem behind the wheel.

ELD compliance, Hours of Service, inspections, logs, and fleet management are already part of a driver’s daily responsibilities. Our goal is to make these processes simpler, so drivers can spend less time dealing with unnecessary complexity and more time focusing on the road.

To every professional driver: thank you

To every driver reading this:

Thank you for every mile.

Thank you for the early mornings, overnight runs, weeks away from home, safe decisions, and deliveries that millions of people depend on every day.

Not just during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

Thank you for the other 51 weeks, too.

Happy National Truck Driver Appreciation Week from the Motion ELD team.
